Hello!
This page offers a glimpse into who I am as an educator and instructional designer. It shares the values and beliefs that guide how I teach, design learning experiences, and support students.
My Story
I am a fourth-grade teacher at St. Charles Elementary in Michigan and a graduate student pursuing my Master's in Instructional Technology. With experience designing engaging learning experiences, integrating meaningful technology, and supporting student self-regulation, I am passionate about creating classroom environments where all learners can thrive. My work blends intructional design, social-emotional learning (SEL) practices, and innovative digital tools to support authentic learning and empower students to grow with confidence and curiosity.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love traveling, baking, gardening, and curling up with a good book. I also adore my dog, who always brings a little extra joy and laughter into my days.
While I love sharing about myself, what truly guides my work each day are the beliefs and values that shape how I teach, design learning experiences, and support my students.
My Approach to Teaching
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and truly seen. I strive to create a classroom community where students are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning. I design student-centered lessons built around collaboration, curiosity, and meaningful routines. Through consistent structures, intentional social-emotional learning (SEL) practices, and opportunities for choice, my goal is to help students develop independence, confidence, and the skills needed to navigate challenges with resilience. Above all, I want my students to leave the classroom knowing they are capable, valued, and ready to grow.
Design for Learning
My instructional technology philosophy is grounded in using digital tools with purpose and intention. I believe technology should enhance learning by making it more engaging, meaningful, and accessible- without replacing the human connections that matter most in the classroom. Whether I’m co-learning alongside my students, designing interactive lessons, or applying frameworks like SAMR, UDL, or ADDIE, I focus on choosing tools that meaningfully support our learning goals. I value using technology to provide opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and choice, while also helping students build strong digital habits and confidence as learners.
