Hello!
This page offers a glimpse into who I am as an educator and instructional designer. It shares the values and beliefs that guide how I teach, design learning experiences, and support students.
My Story
I am a fourth-grade teacher at St. Charles Elementary in Michigan and a graduate student pursuing my Master's in Instructional Technology. With experience designing engaging learning experiences, integrating meaningful technology, and supporting student self-regulation, I am passionate about creating classroom environments where all learners can thrive. My work blends intructional design, SEL practices, and innovative digital tools to support authentic learning and empower students to grow with confidence and curiosity.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling, baking, gardening, and curling up with a good book. I also adore my pets, who always manage to bring a little extra joy and laughter into my days.
As much as I love sharing my story, what truly guides my work each day are the beliefs and values that shape how I teach, how I design learning experiences, and how I support my students.
My Approach to Teaching
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and truly seen. I work hard to create a classroom community where students are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning. I love designing lessons that are student-centered and built around collaboration, curiosity, and meaningful routines. With consistent routines, intentional SEL practices, and lots of opportunities for choice, my goal is to help students develop independence, confidence, and the skills they need to navigate challenges with resilience. More than anything, I want my students to leave our classroom knowing they are capable, valued, and ready to grow.
Design for Learning
My instructional technology philosophy is grounded in using digital tools with purpose and intention. I believe technology should make learning more engaging, meaningful, and accessible—not replace the human connections that matter most in the classroom. Whether I’m co-learning alongside my students, designing interactive lessons, or using frameworks like SAMR, UDL, or ADDIE, I focus on choosing tools that truly support our learning goals. I love using technology to give students more opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and choice while helping them build strong digital habits and confidence as learners.
